New solutions package for video-based knowledge transfer: [itl]-clips

Since 2006, itl has been producing Utility Films for customers who want to use them to support their service network or training centers. Utility Films impart explicit practical knowledge in short, linked film clips which, for example, a service technician would require for the repair or maintenance of a device or machine. Even if the knowledge gained from a product training has been forgotten, the knowledge can be recalled at any time step-by-step with Utility Film.

[itl]-clips, Utility-Film

Utility Films are thus instructions in moving pictures whereby the user controls the progress: by clicking on a clip which shows a self-contained action. The user then performs what is seen. The user starts the next clip once he/she is satisfied with the result. Branches, e.g. for troubleshooting are possible within the film structure and often make sense.

In the meantime, this area of text-free, video-supported knowledge transfer has been greatly expanded due to the large demand for it both in terms of personnel (four employees are now currently employed in this new methodology) and from itl's professional offering.

[itl]-clips offer significantly more than the Utility Film in its original sense. Today, films can thus be produced at itl for the support of manufacturing or sales.

"In the manufacture of our sunscreen products, we have achieved an increase in efficiency using video sequences that have clear and optimized instructions. As internationally operating company, we see great advantages in being able to provide the installation teams worldwide with all the required working steps in great detail. And to do this without text or having to overcome language barriers. The video sequences with installation instructions can also be utilized at trade shows and on-site at customers. This is particularly interesting for new products.", explains itl customer Jürgen Bauer from the WAREMA Renkhoff GmbH.

itl offers the following [itl]-clips service modules:

  • Pilot production to get to know [itl]-clips at a fixed price
  • Preproduction (benefits concept, navigation structure, storyboarding, etc.)
  • Production (filming and post-production)
  • Design (screen design, navigation elements, pictograms, CD booklet, etc.)
  • Usability test (focus groups, user tests, opinion survey, etc.)

Reduce costs with [itl]-clips – create new quality.
